Earlier this year, we were nominated for the “Best Food Blog (Reader’s Choice)” ZEST Award from Johnson & Wales University. The awards, which were started back in 2012, honor South Florida leaders in the culinary arts including restaurants, chefs and food media.
The winners were announced last night and … we won!
We’re teaming up again with Compassionate Pug Rescue this month to help Tootsie, a special needs pug. She has degenerative back disease that affects her hind legs and makes moving difficult. Fortunately, there’s something we can all do to help her out.

This is Tootsie. She’s a tiny, beautiful girl around 6-7 years old. She’s full of love and enjoys getting and giving kisses! She’s considered special needs as her back legs don’t work so well. #FindMeAHomeFriday is a campaign by Compassionate Pug Rescue and Miami Food Pug to help South Florida pugs find a forever home. Each Friday, we will be photoshopping a rescue pug available for adoption into an MFP food picture. For more details, visit the campaign page.
Here at Miami Food Pug, we love three things: Miami, food and pugs. This month, we wanted to take some time to focus on our love for pugs. There are many pugs out there that need a forever home, and we wanted to make sure they got the love they deserved.
We reached out to Compassionate Pug Rescue and asked them if they’d like to team up for a rescue campaign. As a result, #FindMeAHomeFriday was born.

There’s no shortage of traveling this year. A few weeks back I found myself in D.C. This time around, I went to Orlando. My priority in Orlando was a rock concert, but that didn’t mean food took a backseat. In fact, I think this is the Orlando trip with the most calories consumed (thanks to a certain restaurant I’ll introduce you to.).
