When we first set out to write this story, we expected Cake Thai Zap Elee — the latest concept from Chef Phuket “Cake” Thongsodchareondee — to stick around for a while. We knew it would be short-lived — it was a pop-up after all — but we never expected it to shut down almost as quickly as it opened inside B Bistro + Bakery.

Alas, all good things come to an end. Cake Thai Zap Elee may be gone, but it’s definitely not forgotten. If anything, this post will serve as yet another reason to check out Cake’s amazing food.

Pilo’s Street Tacos: A Brickell Gem

Last month, we spoiled ourselves with tacos in San Diego. It seemed like a good decision at the time, but trying our favorite Mexican dish over on the West Coast made us realize what we were missing over here in Miami. There’s no comparison: San Diego tacos — especially fish tacos — just taste better.

Coming back to South Florida, we weren’t sure we’d find anything close to the quality we experienced. Pilo’s Street Tacos in Brickell proved us wrong.

La Centrale Opens in Brickell City Centre

It’s been a long time coming, but La Centrale is finally open inside Brickell City Centre. We’ve been eagerly awaiting the three-floor Italian food hall, which was slated to open late last year but Miami ruins everything. Now that it’s (almost) fully operational, we got to peek inside the venue’s first floor and eat our weight in carbs. Was it worth the wait? Yes x1000.
