La Mar at the Mandarin Oriental: The Brunch to Beat

la-mar-menu

Brunch: It’s one of our favorite meals. And in Miami, there’s no shortage of brunch options. Whether you’re in Coral Gables, Wynwood, Miami Beach or even Doral, you’re bound to find eggs benedict, mimosas and the traditional Sunday fare around every corner.

La Mar isn’t your ordinary Sunday brunch venue, though. Gaston Acurio’s Peruvian outpost in the 305 elevates the mid-day meal to a whole different level. We haven’t come across anything quite like this feast in the city. In other words, it’s the brunch to beat.

Parmigiano Crusted Grilled Cheese from ella in the Design District.

Here’s Spike! A 10 year old with some eye issues and back leg weakness due to an unknown spinal issue.  He can still run around the backyard and play! So that’s exactly what we did.

jessi-bakes-pic

If you haven’t heard the name Jessica Hernandez in South Florida’s food scene or seen her decadent work on the Instagram account @Jessi_Bakes, it’s just a matter of time. The Crumb on Parchment pastry chef has made quite the name for herself since first falling in love with baking at a young age. Her demeanor is just as sweet as her treats, which we discovered when we met a few weeks ago to talk about all things baking.
